Essential Oils

Extracted from flowers, leaves, bark, roots, or peels of plants. 

Obtained through methods like steam distillation, cold pressing, or CO₂ extraction. 

Highly potent and typically diluted in carrier oils before use. 

Fragrance: Lavender, citrus, and rose oils add natural scent. 

Preservative: Some oils (like tea tree or thyme) have antimicrobial properties that help preserve products. 

Active Ingredient: They offer skin-enhancing effects such as:  

Anti-inflammatory (e.g., chamomile, lavender) 

Antioxidant (e.g., frankincense, myrrh) 

Antibacterial (e.g., tea tree, eucalyptus) 

Astringent (e.g., rosemary, witch hazel) 

Always dilute essential oils before applying to skin. 

Perform a patch test to check for allergic reactions. 

Some oils (like citrus) are photosensitive—avoid sun exposure after use.
